If you just came back from work and you want to just cooks something heathy and quickly, this is the recipe for you.

Asparagus wrapped in bacon

Ingredients:

  • 10 asparagus stalks
  • 5-10 strips of bacon (in UK you can find pancetta in NL ontbijt spek)

Cooking time: 12 mins to prepare and bake in the oven

Preparation: Wash the asparagus, but the bottom sides (or snap it, however you prefer) and wrap every 2 of the stalks with 1-2 strips of bacon (if you want to indulge yourself, then you can wrap each stalk with bacon)

Cooking:

The best way to cook this is to use a grill oven, but if you don’t have one, then a normal oven will do.

Put the asparagus on a grid in the oven/grill (so that the fat an melt) and cook it for about 5-10 mins depending on the thickness (the ones in the photo above I cooked for 8 mins because I like my veggie still hard and crunchy).

After it is cooked, you can put some lemon juice over it, just a matter of taste.
